Unleash your inner superstar at the Colossalcon East Karaoke Contest! Sing your favorite anime, video game, or cartoon-theme song. Only one contestant will be crowned the Supreme Superstar! Prizes and glory await! Shine on stage and captivate the audience!
Casual Karaoke:
There will be two (2) casual karaoke events, All Ages Karaoke and 18+ Karaoke. All Ages Karaoke will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, and 18+ Karaoke will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10:00pm to 1:00am.
The room will be cleared five (5) minutes before 18+ karaoke begins. Those that wish to participate may sign up for 18+ once they have reentered the room.
Karaoke Competition:
This event will be held Friday and run from 2:00 to 5:00pm. Registration will be available HERE, and sign up will be done in advance and officially closed either when all 24 spots have been filled or the Monday before the convention, whichever comes first.
Singers are responsible for providing their own tracks upon sign up. Singers are encouraged to sing from memory. Songs must have been created for and used in an anime, video game, or cartoon. Songs not created for the above content will be declined. Any genre is acceptable. No live action. No songs longer than five minutes.
Non participants are welcome to watch and enjoy the performances.
There will be three judges. Singers will be judged on vocal performance (0-10 possible points), stage presence (0-5 possible points), and song difficulty (0-5 possible points).
An additional five points are awarded to singers who perform without any lyrical aids. (Lyric aids include: vocals on the song track, text lyrics, and/or scrolling lyrics)
The contest will take place over two rounds. All participants will sing in the first round. After the first round, participation ribbons will be handed out and the top 5 singers will be announced and asked to sing their second song submission (provided on registration). The order of the winners from 1st to 5th will be decided based on the second round of performances.
The 1st place winner of the competition will be awarded a Multi-Day Pass for Colossalcon East 2027 as well as a medal. Second and Third place will be awarded medals and 4th and 5th will receive a ribbon. Awards will be presented at approximately 5:00pm after scores have been tallied and a short deliberation by the judges.
