Outdoor Activities

Colossalcon East's Outdoor Activities bring the energy outside with a packed schedule of organized games, challenges, and late-night activities. Featuring competitive team sports like soccer, volleyball, dodgeball, and Ultimate Frisbee to interactive experiences inspired by anime and pop culture, these events are designed for movement, teamwork, and friendly rivalry.

Our lineup also includes unique nighttime programming, such as outdoor anime screenings and/or immersive storytelling experiences, offering something for both high-energy participants and those looking to unwind under the stars.

Please note that Outdoor Events are weather dependent, and activities may be delayed, modified, or canceled due to rain or other conditions. Schedule updates will be shared on the web guide as come up.

War by Committee
War...war never changes and neither does command. Players will man one of three positions. Central command, Scout, and Grunt.
Central command will give the orders to the grunt via radio as to where to go and what to do without ever being able to see them.
Scout will be able to see grunt and will radio Central command where grunt is and what they are doing.
Grunt will be blindfolded and will need pick up a nerf gun, magazine, and mortar to knock down a glowing target by following the commands from center command

Hobby Horse Obstacle course
Bring your own hobby horse or use one of the provided horses to see if you can have the fastest time on the obstacle course.

Year of the Fire Horse dance party.
Weather permitting there will be a dance party themed around Horses big and small and fire. So bring your fire or Horse themed outfits and your dancing shoes.

Ultimate frisbee
Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact, self-refereed team sport played with a frisbee. Two teams of seven players typically compete on a field about the length of a football field, but narrower, each defending one end zone. The game starts with a "Pull" to determine possession. Players can move once the disc is released, and possession changes if the disc is not caught. The receiving team starts from where the disc crossed the line or can advance 1/3 of the field if it goes out of bounds. Passes can be made in any direction, and scoring requires the catcher to have a foot inside the end zone lines. The game can be won by reaching a set number of points or by running a clock. Defense aims to intercept passes without contact, and if the disc is caught in the end zone by the defense, they gain possession where it entered.

Anime under the stars
Anime under the stars is an outdoor drive-in movie styled showing of a popular anime show/movie that is themed each night. The outdoor screening area will either be are just outside the doors at outdoor events or on the river patio

Soccer
a game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponents' goal.

Dodgeball 5Ds
Dodgeball is a team game in which players must dodge or catch balls thrown by the opposition whilst attempting to strike their opponents in the same way

Umamusume Pretty Derby Photoshoot
The Uma Musume Pretty Derby Photoshoot will be held in the Outdoor event area. There will be some props and Items for the event. Play do not Damage the props

Colossal Downs Umamusume Parade and Race
There will be a Parade of all the Athletes who are participants in the race. The parade will form by the starting gates and walk down the course. After the parade there will be time to get registered for the race. The race will be 5 racers in each heat with the top player or players advancing based on participation. Race will be along a flagged path along the outdoor events area.

Super secret ninja tournament
Ninja is a convention staple. Ninja is a cross between freeze tag and hot hands. The object of the game is to hit an opponent's hand with your hand when it is your turn. The game starts with everyone in a circle taking a step back and striking a pose which they must stay in till it is their turn. When it is your turn you can make 1 fluid motion to try and strike an opponent's hand and must freeze in that position at the end of your turn. When someone is making a strike at your hand you can make 1 fluid motion to dodge and must freeze in that position. The victor is that last one not out.

Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules
