Colossalcon East IdolFest

The Colossalcon East IdolFest is a non-competitive event where idols get the chance to shine on our main stage and perform for all of our attendees. Get those light sticks ready!

  • The IdolFest will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 2pm, (subject to change in accordance with convention scheduling)
  • Your performance may be up to 6 minutes in length.
  • Our stage size is 16x32 feet with a catwalk extension measuring 8x16 feet. Please plan your performances accordingly.
  • Microphones can be provided for those who wish to sing live.
  • Idols may utilize our large background screen measuring 8x15 feet for a video to help enhance their performances. This can be a video background or a photo of a location to help bring the audience into your performance. Please note that the contents of your video must also meet the PG-13 standards. Videos should be sent in mp4 format with a 16x9 ratio and 1080p resolution.
  • Each group may have a maximum of 9 performers due to stage size.

Applications will open on June 12, 2026 and will be due on August 12th, 2026.
All IdolFest participants must follow the rules below. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via email at cosplay@colossalconeast.com.

Idolfest Rules

  1. You are required to submit an audition video that showcases at least one song you intend to perform at Colossalcon East. If you are applying with an act that includes live singing, your application video must include you singing the song you wish to perform. Any original choreography must be shown as part of your application.
  2. Anyone planning to perform is required to be featured in your audition video. If all group members are unable to film together in the same location, please provide a compilation video of all members showcasing their performance. Cosplay is not required for your audition video, though we do encourage recording in a well-lit room where your entire body is in frame. We ask that all applicants are wearing appropriate attire and footwear in their videos.
  3. Full length performance audio is required at the time of application submission.
  4. You cannot apply to the Masquerade and IdolFest with the same performance.
  5. The Colossalcon East IdolFest is an event focused on musical performances. As such, we ask that the majority of your desired performance be comprised of singing and/or dancing. If you are interested in putting on a more story-focused performance, we recommend applying to the Masquerade. (Link to the rules page)
  6. Each group may apply with one performance and each group member can only perform with one group in the IdolFest.
  7. Every group member must be registered for Colossalcon East at the time of IdolFest.
  8. Costumes and performances must meet the rules and guidelines of the convention and must be no more than PG-13. If it’s appropriate for a PG-13 movie, it’s appropriate for the show, but please keep in mind that there will be children in the audience. If you are unsure whether your performances or audio are appropriate, please feel free to email the cosplay staff for feedback. If you are questioning the content, then perhaps it should not be in your performance. If you are interested in performing a more mature set, check out Cosnanigans. (LINK HERE)
The Cosplay Director and/or Assistant Director reserve the right to decline/disqualify your performance if the content is deemed inappropriate for the PG-13 rating.
  9. If it comes on stage with you, it must leave the stage with you. Nothing dangerous or messy. Throwing objects off the stage is prohibited. Reckless behavior resulting in falling off the stage, or breaking/damaging equipment (or nearly doing so) will result in disqualification. If you break stage equipment, you buy it. Extreme physical acts may need approval from the Cosplay Director at rehearsal to ensure safety.
  10. Colossalcon East staff is available through email communication before the show. You will receive information through email before the event. If you need to drop out of the show, please reach out to the staff so that another individual on the waitlist can have the opportunity. We ask that you respect your fellow attendees and the cosplay staff by appearing when expected. Failure to communicate with the Colossalcon East IdolFest staff will result in removal from the IdolFest.
  11.  At Colossalcon East, any and all displays of poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Harassment of any kind (both online and in person) will not be tolerated and can result in automatic removal from the IdolFest.  Be it of your fellow contestants or our staff, all Colossalcons have a zero bullying and harassment policy.
  12.  Colossalcon East does not support the usage of AI-generated music, video, and images. Usage of these things for any of our cosplay events is not permitted, and usage of said things will result in being disqualified.

**UPCOMING CHANGE FOR 2027**

In order to keep the show new and exciting, we will be prioritizing applications including songs that were not performed at the prior year’s IdolFest. The previous year’s setlist will be provided on this webpage.

If you have any questions, please email us at cosplay@colossalconeast.com. Best of luck with your prep and applications!

This form will open on Friday, June 12th at 12 PM EST.
